Skywind: Overhaul Mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skywind is a highly anticipated overhaul mod, or total recreation, of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, built from the ground up in the more modern Skyrim: Special Edition engine. In the project’s own words:

Skywind sheds the shackles of the older game, bringing modern graphics, assets, and sounds, a full cast of voice actors, and all the benefits of fifteen years of gaming improvements, while preserving the incredible characters, locations, and quests with which Morrowind charmed the world all those years ago.

Intermittently from May to September 2022, I worked under head writers @MithrilKnickers and @TwoBitMatt as a quest and dialog writer. I also contributed to loading screen and item description text.

To learn more, see the dedicated project website HERE.

Please note below are examples of my contributions to the mod at the time, and should not be taken as representative of the finished product.

Interactive Art Installation for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

Interimaginary Departures (2021) is an immersive public art installation by renowned artist Janet Zweig. Housed within the Barbara Johnson terminal of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The installation provides an interactive experience of waiting to board flights to fictional destinations from world literature, TV and film, complete with flight announcements, boarding passes, and places to sit.

Starting in 2019, I began working as a writer and researcher for the project under the direction of Ms. Zweig, while completing my Master’s Degree in English Literature at the University of Texas at Austin.

My individual contributions included writing several hundred pieces of unique exhibit text to be displayed digitally on various digital displays, boarding passes. I also wrote dozens of unique lines of fully voiced flight announcement dialog, played on-site as part of the immersive art experience.

For an example of the experience dialog and exhibit, please see the excerpted media below, and/or visit the project webpage.
